Stuart Auckland is currently the Program Coordinator for Community Health Development at the University Department of Rural Health, Tasmania (UDRH).
Stuart also holds the title of Lecturer and Program Manager within his current employment at the UDRH, Stuart has held the positions of;
- Senior Project Officer
- Assistant Director
- Acting Co Director
Prior to his current employment at the UDRH, Stuart was employed in both the private and public sectors. During the 1990’s, Stuart was employed by the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industry, Water and Energy (DPIWE). Key positions held by Stuart whilst employed by the DPIWE include;
- State Program Coordinator, Tasmanian Water Projects;
- Senior Project Officer, Tasmanian Drought Preparedness
- State Program Coordinator, Landcare Tasmania.
Prior to taking up employment in Tasmania, Stuart was the Manager of the Technical Services at Goodman Fielder Wattie Ltd, a large corporate food production company in Tamworth, NSW.
Stuart has extensive experience in rural community development in both Tasmania and mainland Australia. This includes a range of community based projects and research initiatives in both the resource management and health sectors. As well as being published in text books and leading journals, Stuart has also presented his work at a number of national and state conferences. Currently, Stuart is interested in primary health, health impact assessment and population and community health.
