Cornerstone Youth Counselling
Who?
Cornerstone Youth Counselling provides a clinical, holistic, therapeutic counselling service for young people aged 12-25, and their families living across North and North West Tasmania. Cornerstone Youth Counselling is for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental ill health who would benefit from short term psychological counselling and therapeutic support. Cornerstone Youth Counselling provides a service specifically for young people who find accessing mainstream services difficult due to a range of barriers including; transport, finance or geographical isolation.
Eligibility
- Aged 12-25 years
- Require therapeutic support to assist with a range of mild to moderate mental health concerns
- Are willing to engage in therapeutic work
Where?
Access to the service is delivered primarily via telehealth, however in some circumstances alternate options can be explored; face to face or office based in Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.
How?
Cornerstone Youth Counselling clinicians provide comprehensive clinical assessments and interventions focused on 1:1 psychological therapy to assist young people to improve their psychological wellbeing and psychosocial functioning.
Referral
Young people are referred via their GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist under a Mental Health Care Plan.
Referrers maintain a carriage of care for the young person, until informed that the referral has been accepted.
